Define your happiness

Very little is required to make a happy life, it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking

Marcus Aurelius Antoninus

We all face problems and we struggle, we always rely on someone for our happiness. Would you believe me if I told you happiness is a skill and we all need to improve on that skill?

Happiness is not all about positive thinking, don’t get me wrong, being a positive thinker is one of the best things you can ever do to and for yourself. Happiness is well built by positive action and not positive thinking. Let me break it down for you; as individuals, we tend to look at ourselves as rational beings and we process information in an objective manner just like a computer but the reality is that we are far from objective through the help of our brain which is a good thing.

We are more evaluative and elaborate and expressive with not just our thoughts but our actions. Now we can express ourselves through our actions. It’s not strange to be anxious or worried because in one sense we were built for it and most of us long for a life of happiness I’m not certain we can live without the other but I’m certain it can be balanced.

Happiness is not something we can find outside but within ourselves and a skill that can be worked on. One of the ways to improve this skill called happiness is to build healthy habits for ourselves, you can start with sending gratitude texts to your loved ones, and caring for your relationships and it doesn’t have to be a committed relationship rather it’s the quality of the relationship that matters.

When it comes to happiness, some actions are stronger than others, and it’s communication, comprehension, relationships, awareness, resilience, emotions, acceptance, etc.
